The State Government has announced a major $260,000 study into current and former travelling stock routes in the Hunter.
The study, to be conducted by the Department of Lands, the Hunter Central Rivers CMA and a group of stakeholders will assess the current and future uses of the routes.
Once complete the study will be used as a template across the state which can be applied to better manage stock routes, taking into account potential future uses for the site.
Besides use a stock route local TSR's have historical, recreational and environmental purposes.
